The glass has been extracted from an archaeological dig in Israel where an ancient Roman city once stood. It is complimented by a large round, faceted amazonite, gently dangling from the sparkling pendant.
The fantastic colors in the glass develop over centuries of being buried in mineral rich soil making each shard unique. A story card comes with each piece explaining the history of ancient Roman glass.
This piece is made in an artists' studio in the north of Israel in a small town near Nazareth. The studio is unusual because Bedouin women and Israeli Jews have worked side by side for many years, through decades of strife and conflict.
