Add a touch of the old world style to your jewelry collection with this Yemenite filigree and Roman glass bracelet.
This classic bracelet features a stunning band handcrafted from sterling silver by Yemeni jewelers in Israel. The fine art of filigree making, or weaving together extremely thin strands of silver, has been handed down for hundreds of years--first in Yemen and now also in Israel. The filigree is intricately woven out of sterling which is then oxidized to make it look ancient and timeless. The filigree panels are open in the back, allowing the wrist to breath.
Some panels are lent additional splendor with inlaid shards of ancient roman glass. These iridescent shards will reflect the colors of whatever you are wearing so the band will always match whatever you wear. This speckled blue glass comes from an archaeological dig in Israel, found in the splendid ruins where ancient Roman cities once stood. The lobster claw clasp is also sterling silver.
This bracelet is made in the small Mediterranean studio of Ben Sadya, a Yemenite jeweler who has won many international awards for his designs.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce slight variations in color, form, and sizing. All measurements are approximate. Please do not get your jewelry wet. Treat it as if it were 2,000 years old. Avoid handling the glass: oils from your hands may alter the glass color and remove its luster. Clean the silver with a cloth, but try not to rub the ancient glass.
