Signor Sesti, a Renaissance man with so many interests, studied wine for 15 years before making his first Brunello by speaking to the old farmers to see how they made their wine. Mr. Sesti, being a very competent astronomer, manipulates his wines as little as possible and respects the influence of the moon prior to doing any transfer of wine.
The wine's characteristics include a sustained ruby/garnet color; powerful berry fruit of good ripeness; aromas of herbs, chocolate, plums, and tar. It is full-bodied with multiple layers and a thick texture dense in flavors. Still some tannins that will become smoother with time and fortunately, the sweetness of the fruit comes out in the finish and masks the important tannins. A wine to start drinking in 2004 but has a life of at least 10 years to enjoy with big roasts or elaborate dishes.
