The sea is very close to Peel and they have a Mediterranean microclimate with mild winters and relatively cool summers. Almost every year, the Cabernet Sauvignon from Peel wins as western Australia's best Cabernet.
This Lenton Brae '00 is a blend of 83-percent Cabernet Sauvignon/17-percent Merlot. The Cabernet provides depth of flavor and structure, whereas the Merlot adds mid-palate richness. Under appropriate cellaring, this wine will further integrate and develop complexity.
