This enchanting piece was handcrafted in Israel using traditional tools and techniques. It features a triangular piece of ancient Roman glass (14 mm x 12 mm) bezel set in sterling silver. The Roman glass is excavated from archaeological sites in Israel. Over the centuries the ancient glass absorbed chemicals from the surrounding soil creating a lustrous patina effect with shimmering tones of violet, aqua and teal. Delicate filigree work is achieved by hand-weaving sterling silver threads, crating a unique, braided effect. The piece includes a story card explaining the origin of the ancient Roman glass. Yemeni artist Ben Zion David designs these unique treasures. He has won several awards in the USA and abroad for his gorgeous jewelry designs.
