Necessity is the mother of invention as this Afghani hand-knitted hat and glove set will attest.
Prompted by decades of unrest, the UN set up the Babou camp in Pakistan for the thousands of displaced refugees from Afghanistan. Because most of them did not have a traditional male bread earner, the Afghani women would sell off personal belongings in order to purchase materials to make hand-knitted items hoping to sell or trade them for what they needed. These gloves were made in that camp.
Constructed from a 70-percent wool/30-percent rayon blend, these sets come in a wide variety of colors and designs.
There is always a wide selection of fashion accessories at Overstock.com .
