Tooled leather is an art from the north of Peru, particularly from the region of Cajamarca. This leather is dried tanned leather, which has been worked and dyed by hand. Lacquer and waxes are then applied, which keep the leather smooth and soft. Use the trunk to store blankets, trinkets, or whatever you desire!
Since meeting Worldstock in May 2002, this family-based workshop hired 20-50 additional workers to fully realize the potential of this, their first export market. Artisans with a 21st century opportunity are effective employment creators!
